Forklift Battery Charger, things to consider...

Selecting a compatible charger for your electric forklift battery is very important due to the expensive battery replacement costs ranging from $3,000 - $6,000 depending on the size make and model.  On the DC side the batteries Amp Hours (AH) are the main compatibility requirement, it is recommended to stay within 10% +/- for optimal charge.  Most smart chargers have an Equalize feature that monitors each cell and applies more or less time charging the weaker or stronger cells.  On the AC side there are single phase and three phase chargers that can be set to 208/240/480 not all have the three options some only work on 480 VAC.  You may want to ask an electrician to make sure the correct AC Voltage is selected and can be pre-set from the dealer leaving only the hard wire connection for the electrician.  New Industrial chargers range from $1,500 to over $3,000 but there are good used chargers in the marketplace for under $1,000.  The newer chargers are High frequency (HF) and are smaller, and lighter yet charge more efficiently.
